CSS Corporate Solutions LLC- Procurement Manager



CSS Corporate Solutions was established in 2004 to help small and medium-sized companies compete more effectively in the global market by providing consulting services. The Company is currently looking for a Procurement Manager for our Lagos Office.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
 The Procurement Manager will report to the Executive Director.





 SCOPE:
The Procurement Manager plans, organizes and manages the procurement and subcontracting activities undertaken by the Company and is responsible for ensuring that related activities are performed efficiently, effectively and in accordance with established Company policies and procedures.

 
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
The Procurement Manager will:
• Oversee all area procurement and subcontract administration activities associated with the placing and administering of purchase orders and contracts for equipment, materials and services, to include strategic sourcing and supplier alliances, subcontracts, expediting, transportation management, consulting agreements and claim resolution.
• Develop, implement and maintain procurement and subcontracting procedures required to provide appropriate controls over the manner in which area procurement and subcontracting activities are performed.
• Manage and control the number and types of personnel performing related activities in the area so that a responsive, capable and cost effective organization is maintained.
• Define, manage and accomplish both short-term and longer term objectives that enhance area procurement and subcontracting capabilities.
• Review and approve proposed major purchase and subcontract awards for compliance with project and corporate requirements and ensure appropriate value is received for monies expended.
• Lead efforts to develop procurement and subcontract input for proposals; i.e., man-hour estimates, subcontracting write-ups, equipment, materials and subcontract work package pricing, etc.
• Stay appropriately involved in purchase contract and subcontract change management activity to ensure protection of the Company against potential supplier and subcontractor claims.
• Review and participate in the resolution of major claims and disputes.



SKILLS

• The successful candidate for the Procurement Manager position will have a Bachelor's degree in a construction, engineering or business related field, or the equivalent experience combined with a minimum of 15 years prior engineering and construction industry work experience.
• This experience will include at least 8 to 10 years of procurement/materials management experience including subcontracts/contracts management.
• The ideal candidate will have demonstrated an ability to accomplish established objectives within a diverse corporate environment including within an international environment.
• The Procurement Manager must be able to handle multiple projects and priorities and be confident enough to make difficult decisions.
• The Procurement Manager must be comfortable with detail and possess a strong system focus as well as a reputation for integrity, maturity, and an ability to work under pressure in a fast paced multi-faceted business environment.
• The successful candidate must be an organized and disciplined individual with well-developed communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills will support this individual's ability to deal effectively with operational management throughout the organization.
• The Procurement Manager must have the leadership capability to develop and supervise a quality staff, setting direction, managing programs, and bringing projects to fruition.
• In summary, the successful candidate will be a proven procurement professional and team player with the ability to assume increasing responsibilities beyond those outlined in this specification.
