Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:               To be the on-the-ground accounting and reporting leader, with oversight for the preparation of financial statements, reviewing and commenting on results, as well as pre-empting and addressing any issues. To be the first point of contact and advisor for Local Management in all accounting matters, as well as the single point of contact for the Accounting Service Center.
 
JOB SCOPE:                    The role covers all West Africa Legal entities. You report to the Corporate Finance Manager and are accountable for your job performance to him. You will also work closely with the Accounting Service Centre, and local Accounting contacts in West Africa.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:     The key areas of responsibility are as follows:
(i)             Lead financial statements completion and review.
(ii)           Coordinate monthly balance sheet reconciliations (BSR) and P&L review. 
(iii)         Coordinate and complete timely quarterly local book certification to the parent company.
(iv)         Ensure Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and Statutory/Legal requirements are met.
(v)           Ensure consistency of local business processes with accounting policies and procedures. This includes understanding and application of local as well as US GAAP accounting standards and requirement.
(vi)         Provide Local Management with all relevant accounting information in order to make the right business decisions, and fulfill statutory requirements.
(vii)       Responsible for stewardship/risk mitigation in the Accounting area, specifically coordinate of all internal controls activities.
(viii)     Be the single point of contact (SPOC) for the Accounting Shared Service Centre.
(ix)         Coordinate external year-end audits.
(x)           Develop documentation for all Accounting related processes. Bachelors degree with good academic results from Accounting, Economics or Statistics Major.
Good Knowlegde of Basic Accounting and Stewardship processes.
Legally eligible to work in Nigeria
Not more than 2 years Post NYSC experience.
Excellent communication skills.
